The city of Mukdahan is based in the Isaan region of Thailand, which is the northeastern part of the country. Situated along the river Mekong, Mukdahan is the capital city of Mukdahan province. Phu Manorom – When you are up early in the morning and want to visit a serene place, the small hilltop temple of Phu Manorom can be the right choice. Mukdahan Tower- This is the most popular attraction of the city, which is located in the southern corner. The tower is a six storey construction that overlooks not only the entire city, but also the Savannakhet and Mekong. On visiting the lobby and the ground floor of the tower, you will witness several interesting things such as elephant net, eagle trap, ancient pottery collections, tribal wares and a lot more. Moving up to the second floor, you will find several items on display. You can witness the images of the tribal groups and their ware, which dates back to some 100 years. In addition to that, there are palm-leaf recipe book, tiger tooth charm, a mouse deer skull, and several official records. Continue exploring the diverse treasures in different floors of the tower until you reach the sixth floor. Just take a look at the amazing view from the top, you will feel on top of the world.
